Using four-stroke engines for outboard applications introduces maintenance procedures not necessary on two-stroke engines: oil changes and valve and timing belt adjustments. Yamaha engineers have not eliminated these service procedures on the F80TXRX, but they have stretched the intervals to make maintenance easier and less costly.
