Suzuki Four-Strokes
Suzuki Four-Strokes
SUZUKI has introduced new-technology four-strokes in 90- and 115-hp models. Compared to the competition, Suzuki engines boast smaller size and lighter weight. An offset driveshaft moves the center of gravity forward, toward the transom for better balance on the transom and considerably smaller size. A new powerhead design with dual overhead cams, four valves per cylinder and oil-bathed, self-adjusting, chain-driven valve train situated below the powerhead permits a smaller cowling. Both new engines deliver surprising low-end torque for four-strokes. A 2.59:1 gear ratio qualifies as the lowest in the horsepower class, allowing you to turn a larger prop for quicker planing without sacrificing top-end speed. In addition to being the only engines with water-cooled intake manifolds, crankcases and fuel systems, the 90 nd 115 employ Suzuki's unique four-into-two-into-one exhaust system that dramatically improves performance by balancing exhaust pressures.
