Yamaha Offers More Than $800,000 In Incentives For Anglers Fishing The FLW Redfish Series and Kingfish Tour
KENNESAW, Ga., 3/15/05 - Yamaha Marine now offers additional incentives for saltwater anglers to fish the new Wal-Mart FLW Kingfish Tour and Redfish Series this year. More than eight hundred thousand reasons. As a sponsor of both tournament series, Yamaha offers $838,850 in contingency award money to anglers whose boats are powered by Yamaha.
For the new Redfish Series, Yamaha offers up to $424,000 in incentive bonuses during the eight qualifying events and $51,350 for the championship event tournament in Mobile, Ala., on October 27-29. At the qualifying events, the incentives range from $12,500 for first place down to $500 for the 75th qualifier. During the championship, payouts will range from $25,000 for first place to $500 for the 50th place team.
Yamaha also offers the same incentive bonuses for anglers fishing the Wal-Mart FLW Kingfish Tour. The total incentive pool for the Kingfish Tour is $497,500. Anglers can earn up to $90,000 at each of the four qualifying tournaments. First place anglers will receive $30,000. Incentive bonuses are offered through the 40th place with that team receiving $500. The Yamaha bonus money for the Kingfish Championship in D'ilberville, Miss., on October 13-15, totals $137,000. The first place team can win $37,500 and payouts run through the 50th place team, which will receive $500.
To qualify for the incentive bonuses, the team must fish from a boat with a registered Yamaha outboard. The eligible boat/motor must be used during all days of the competition.
At the inaugural Redfish Series event in Sarasota, Fla., Yamaha anglers collected more than $16,000 in contingency award money. The company expects the payout to be even more at the Kingfish Tour opener in Ft. Pierce, Fla., on April 1-2 where a 100-boat field is expected.
"Saltwater anglers represent a core part of our business and we believe the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish and Kingfish tournaments are a great way to support our owners and promote sport fishing," says Dale Barnes, marketing division manager.
